The POMZ-2 is a stake-mounted anti-personnel fragmentation mine made in the former Soviet Union. The body of the mine is a cast-iron thick-walled tube with six rows of cast fragmentation "chunks". This is usually mounted on a short wooden stake. Because the mine is easy to copy, dimensions and colour may vary. The body of the mine is usually painted olive green. The wooden stakes may be green, brown or unpainted.

Fuze: The fuze is usually an MUV with a tripwire attached.

The POMZ-2 has no thread in the hole where the fuze attaches, so the fuze is pushed in (the detonator extends inside the TNT roll inside). When the wooden stake decays or falls over, it is fairly common for the fuze and detonator to become separated from the mine. The mine has been extensively copied.
